Prior to performing a facial peel at home, warm your face with warm cloths to open the pores. The peel mask when applied, will lift dirt and oil out of these now opened pores.

Basic ingredients for a facial peel are:
1 tablespoon plain gelatin
1/2 cup fruit or vegetable juice based on your skin type
(see below)

Combine the ingredients and microwave until gelatin is completely dissolved into the juice. Refrigerate the mask until it thickens, usually about 20 to 30 minutes. Your mask should be thick but not so thick you can’t spread it on your face. Apply a light sheer layer over your face, avoiding eyebrows, eyes, and hairline. Relax for 20 minutes. When the mask is no longer tacky, it is dry. Peel from forehead to chin. Rinse with cool water and feel the new exfoliated skin.

For Oily Skin:
Fruit juices are capable of restoring the skins natural acid and getting rid of excess oil. The most effective fruit juice for oily skin is lemon. Lemon juice will decrease shin and reduce the appearance of large pores. Orange, grapefruit and lime juice are also recommended juices for oily skin types. In addition, adding a little carrot juice makes a nice astringent reducing surface oil on the skin.

For Normal to Dry Skin:
Fruit juices such as apple, raspberry, papaya, pear, and peach juices are highly beneficial.
